Karen was born in Aberdeen, Maryland to Edrie Taylor and Margaret Isabelle (Jenkins) Taylor on March 25, 1963. She attended grade school in Aberdeen, Maryland, and graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1981. Karen attended the University of Maryland, graduating with a BA in criminal justice. She then went on to graduate from the Maryland State Corrections Academy. After serving as a Maryland state corrections officer, she went into the field of retail security, and loss prevention. Karen became a security manager, and was employed with Merck/Medco for 15 years before retiring. She then became a realtor until becoming ill in 2015.
Karen moved to Tampa, Florida in 1995. She later met and married Dana T Persha on March 24, 2000 in Tampa, Florida. Karen became a mother of one to Anad Taylor Persha on September 6, 2000. Karen was a dedicated and loving mother and wife.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Edrie Taylor and Margaret (Jenkins) Taylor; brothers, James Taylor and David Greene; and sister Jacqueline Greene, all of Aberdeen, Maryland.
Karen is survived by her husband Dana T Persha; son, Anad Taylor Persha; sisters, Deborah Greene/Singleton and Carlie Greene/Fry; brother-in-law, Marcus Singleton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends.
