She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a lifelong Christian who is now resting in the loving embrace of her Savior.
JoAnne Harrison was born on October 27, 1928, in Chanute, Kansas to parents, Harry and Buna Summers-Rauhoff. Born the youngest of five children, her family took to calling her Jokie at a young age. JoAnne was a Kansas girl through and through with the accent to match. Their home was always filled with music and throughout her life, JoAnne loved to sing and whistle to pass the time.
She met John in Pawhuska, OK shortly after he got out of the navy at the end of WWII. They moved to Texas in 1948 and ultimately settle in Euless, where they raised three children. Her beloved “Johnny” passed away in 2000. In all, JoAnne lived in the same house in Euless for 60 years before moving in with her son in early 2019.
JoAnne was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents Harry & Buna Rauhoff; siblings, Maxine, Jack, Harriot, and Colleen; and mother-in-law, Nellie Phelps.
She is survived by her sons, Brian Harrison and wife, Kim, of Douglasville, GA; Keith Harrison and husband, Jay Singleton, of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Lisa Parker and husband, Myles, of Arlington, TX; grandchildren Alyssa Ellis and husband, Brian, of Euless, TX; Austin Hughes of Euless, TX; Noah May of Arlington, TX; extended family members Renny Berry of Tulsa, OK, Anthony May of Grand Prairie, TX, Gwen Thornton of Bedford, TX, Rondia Mack of Cedar Hill, TX, and niece Sheri Smith of Chanute, KS.
Funeral will be held 12:30 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2020, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, Texas. Interment will follow in the cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2020.
