George Neil Marshall was born on February 28th, 1960 and went home to the Lord, October 3rd, 2020 at the age of 60. He was born in Freeport, New York to the late George and Grace Marshall and was the loving sibling to his late brother, Kenneth Marshall.
After graduating from Half Hollow Hills High School, he worked in air conditioning and refrigeration before he started a career with the Long Island Lighting Company and volunteering for 14 years with the Dix Hills Fire Department alongside his father.
Upon moving to Raleigh, North Carolina, he briefly owned a deli before finishing out his career as a tugboat engineer for Kirby Corporation.
George’s pride and joy was his family. He adored his wife of 35 years, Christine Marshall, whom he married November 23rd, 1985. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Lauren Boone (Coleton Boone) and Erin Daniels (Katelyn Daniels), who were they light of his life. He was also a loyal friend to many. As he loved to cook, much of George’s free time was spent cooking for friends, by the pool, or tailgating for football games.
A service to celebrate George’s life will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, October 10th, in the chapel at McEwen Funeral Service- Pineville, 10500 Park Rd. The family will receive friends following the service at 9006 Loch Glen Way.
