It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother Hazel Irene Boyd. She will always be remembered for her kind and generous nature and her elegant style and flair. Hazel was the matriarch of our family; a classy, dynamic woman. She was a savvy business woman who succeeded in the, then traditional, man's world of textile sales. She went on to become an educator and author sharing her love and knowledge of textiles and sewing with people all across North America. She became a Christian early in life and lived out her faith through her love and support for others. After retiring, she directed much of her passion and energy to her involvement in many caring ministries at her church, West Vancouver Baptist. Hazel was predeceased by her husband of 14 years, Garnett Erle Boyd, and her husband of 25 years, Peter Zazulak. She leaves her family to mourn her passing; brothers Bob (Pat) and Ken; sons Greg (Belinda) and Brad (Judith); step-daughters Adrea and Arleen; grandchildren Stephanie (Scott), Melissa, Jared, Frances and Rachel; step-grandson Zain; great grandchildren Sibella and Stellan as well as nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
A burial service with family will be held this month and a memorial service is being planned that will adhere to all the current protocols. Hazel was a long-time supporter and volunteer for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Donations in memory of Hazel and to honour her life can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
