Thomas White DeHaven, 90, went to be with our Lord on October 10th, 2020, at 12:48 a.m. at the Linda E. White Hospice House of Deaconess. He was born in Evansville, Indiana in 1930, to Thomas and the Lorene (Brown) DeHaven.
Our beloved Tom was a retired Air Force Photographer on the Tiger Lil. B-29 during the Korean War in the 91st Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron. As a Veteran, he was a member of Local 20 Union Sheet Metal Workers until his retirement from (ICI) SKANSKA. Tom was a faithful Christian and devoted family man. He enjoyed gardening, especially home-grown tomatoes, and raising rabbits. He loved to joke around, laugh, and make people laugh.
Tom was preceded in death by both of his parents; his brothers: Bob and Jack; his late wife: Lois; daughter: Gloria; and his son: George.
He is survived by his sisters: Dorothy Lutz, Helen Cox, and Mary Lutz; brother: Jim DeHaven and his wife Connie DeHaven; daughter: Sheree Elliott and her husband Bill Elliott; son: Donald DeHaven; wife: Wilma DeHaven; stepdaughter: Tricia Tominack; grandchildren: Justin Elliott, Brandy Cameron, Mandy Jordan, Hope Tominack, Faith Tominack, and Shane Tominack; great-grandchildren: Kaije Elliot, Ireland Elliott, Gloria Falk, and Damian Schaefer; great-great grandchildren: Amelia Falk; many nieces; nephews; and cousins.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14th in a graveside military service at Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, IN 47720. Visitation for friends and family will be held beforehand from 1:30 p.m. until service time.
