Paula’s heart and home were always open to friends and family providing good food, hugs, and plenty of laughter around the table.
Paula grew up in Clinton, Iowa where she graduated from Mount Saint Clare Academy in 1966 and met her husband of 53 years, Brian Tiesman. She and Brian married on June 17, 1967 and started their lives together in Clinton.
In 1968 Paula and Brian welcomed their first child, Chris, and daughter Nicole followed in 1972. Paula and Brian built a loving home for their children filled with family gatherings. Paula loved to celebrate holidays and opened her doors to everyone. She was so excited about Christmas she often put up her beautiful decorations before Thanksgiving.
Paula had a successful career in contracts administration working for Intercom and Safety Kleen among others. With her friendly, warm and open nature, colleagues became cherished lifelong friends.
Paula enjoyed crafting, reading, shopping trips with her sisters, and doting on “My Boys” her grandsons. With her artistic talents and generous spirit, she always had a special gift ready for her loved ones.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Nora Cardinal.
She is survived by her husband, Brian Tiesman; her children, Chris Tiesman (Lisa Tiesman) and Nicole Tiesman Grygar (Bill Grygar). She was “Grandma” to her beautiful grandsons Carter Tiesman, Clayton Tiesman, Aidan Grygar, Maddux Grygar, and Caleb Tiesman, who she loved very much. She was a devoted sister to Noreen Cardinal Lawrence (Butch Lawrence), Julie Cardinal Klare (Mark Klare), and Mark Cardinal (Shannon Cardinal); and “Aunt Paula” to her nephews and nieces Keri Lawrence Duvall, Gena Lawrence Selman, Matthew Klare, Amanda Klare Naylor, Tyler Cardinal and their families.
Family visitation will be held Sunday October 18, 2020 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th Street, Plano, Texas. The family invites you to join them in praying the Holy Rosary 5:15pm - 6:00pm.
Friends and Family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Mass on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 11:00 am, All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadowcreek Dr., Dallas, Texas 75248. Graveside services will follow at Plano Mutual Cemetery, 18th and Jupiter in Plano, Texas. A reception will follow at Ted Dickey Funeral Home directly across the street from the cemetery 1:00pm - 3:00pm.
