“IF YOU CAN'T BE GOOD, BE CAREFUL." Was a saying he always said with a grin. Ray was a one-of-a-kind character and a lifetime resident of Lumby, BC. He passed away in Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 86 years young.
Predeceased on January 5, 2018 by his wife of 60 years, Lorraine. Also predeceased by his parents Ingmar and Mabel, his brothers Wally, Eddie, and Joe, his sisters Helen, Mabel and Clara, son-in-law Glen “Ernie” Robertson, and his best friend Brian.
He is survived by his children Rick (Kim), Laurie, Randy (Judy), Michelle (Fred); grandchildren Brandon, Melissa, Shawna, Tanya (Shawn), Kyle (Daina), Taylor (Cole), Cara (Cody), Christian
(Maddie), Dyllen, and Josee; great-grandchildren Zoie, Tarik, Drake, Hayden, Brooklynn, Damien, Mackenzie, and Sophia, his best friend Penny, as well as extended family and friends.
He will be truly missed and loved by all the people he touched in his lifetime.
Ray's family would like to thank everyone who helped Ray along his journey over the last 6 months. Your compassion and care are truly appreciated.
A special thanks to Dawn and the girls at the Snac Shac, and Allen and the girls at Sheardowns (Freshmart), both in Lumby, for making Ray's trips "up town" so enjoyable for many years. A special thanks also to Margie and Dana of Jitterbeans in Lumby, for preparing frozen meals for Ray that he always raved about.
A celebration of life for Ray will be held at a later date. Information will be forthcoming.
