Norm was born December 28, 1931 in Hastings, Nebraska. He died at age 88 October 9, 2020 at Farmington Care Center in Gresham, Oregon of renal failure. He graduated from Commerce High School in 1950 and joined the Marine Corps. Upon discharge in 1954, returned to Portland and married Colleen Joerg and had two children. He worked at General Distributors as a driver and salesman and was known as "Stormin Norman". They raised their family in the Parkrose area. He married Erika Judd in 1987 and lived in the Boring area until he retired in 2000 and moved to Palm Desert, CA and lived the great life. He is survived by his wife Erika, his only sister Joann Danaher of Palm Desert, CA, two children Deborah Simons (Chuck Banker), Jeffrey Stack (Patti), two grandchildren Kori McElrea (Brian), Kevin Simons (Michelle), and one great-grandchild Aiden Simons. A private service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery.
