I remember being so excited to see Uncle Eddie when he’d come home to visit his Mom, our Nana with arms full with gifts for each one of his Duffy nieces and nephews! It didn’t last long as his sister Marjorie, our Mom and Edward, our Dad told him to stop. As our family kept growing it became ridiculous! Lol!
There were so many stories growing up of him doing crazy things as a teenager, like hiding in the front seat driving the car as his buddies sat in the back seat and told him where to turn and when to stop so it looked like no one was driving the car!
I also remember visiting Aunt Helen and Uncle Eddie in Phoenix as a teenager and walking down the street right into a low hanging parking sign! He made me laugh with a funny comment even though it hurt like hell! We could always count on Uncle Eddie’s sense of humor to lighten the mood in any situation! 
With the width of the country separating him and Aunt Helen from us, their visits East were always a pleasure. We all loved him so much and are so sad for Aunt Helen's loss of the love of her life.

My grandfather was the best grandfather any kid could ask for and I will miss him dearly.

So sorry for your loss, but rest assured Ed & Clover are smiling down on all of us tonight. We always had a good time with you and Ed in Arizona at Moms and then at Clo & Bills.  Lots of laughs for sure ! So when you get sad remember to look up !

In recent years Eddie and I shared  work in setting up and more often taking down the Lodge furniture after a meeting.
We also chuckled at our advanced ages, being a little older than most.
I will miss him.  The Lodge will miss him.  And his family will miss him.

Edward MacIntyre unofficially adopted me as his play daughter, after working at the VA together. I was struggling and he made it his mission to make sure that I kept pushing forward. He was the dad I never had, and I will miss his wit, his humor, his honesty, support, encouragement, and unconditional love. Dad always sent what he called "snail mail" when his computer wasn't working, and I could count on a special card for my birthday and all holidays. Dad was always encouraging to work things out in my relationship and was so proud of my son graduating high school and continuing on to college. He was at every surgery, and would not leave my side until he knew I was going to be okay. I love you and I will miss you, dearly, Dad. Thank you for 7 years of a dream come true.

Many years ago  Dad MacIntyre helped many young men in DeMolay showing strength through kindness.  This is the memory that I have always had of Dad Mac

Brother Eddie and his wife Helen came on the Masonic tour of UK & Ireland in 2004. They helped make the tour a great Masonic success.
Eddie was a Mason's Man in every possible way. 
He has earned the respect of all Masons.
We will truly miss his wry smile and hearty greeting.

Dear Eddie,  
As we made the journey of growing up together as brother and sister, it wasn't always as loving as it should have been at first.  However, we weathered the storm of our parents' divorce after a pretty nice childhood.  As time went by and we grew older, we found that we had more in common and found a loving bond.  When you married Helen on OUR 12th wedding anniversary, it was such a surprise and honor.  We could never get together as often as we would have liked, but when we did, it was a joy - our visits to Phoenix, your coming East for our children's weddings, our 50th anniversary......you were always a loving and loyal little brother as well as a grand Marine!  It's hard to believe that you have passed on, but we'll meet again.  We loved you and will miss you sorely!


Eddie was not just a Brother in our beloved Masonic Lodge, he was an inspiration to us all. You never heard Eddie complain or say anything negative about anyone. He was a true gentleman’s gentleman! I always had the most profound respect for Eddie and I looked up to him! I am grateful to have called him a friend and Brother. May God bless your wonderful soul, and your family! I will miss you so much grandpa. Always will cherish the first time you told me how proud of me you were. From that day in will always be my greatest achievement. I will always remember you forever. I will always love you grandpa and you will remain in my heart forever.

Eddie was a dear friend of my late husband, Terry from High School Years and then a dear friend to me also when I married Terry.  Eddie and Helen have been great friends, even though we lived many miles apart.  We have kept in touch and shared family news.  My prayers and love go to you, dear Helen and the family.  May Eddie's wonderful memories ease the ache in your hearts.  Eddie will watch over you always.

Eddie always referred to Helen (wife) in every social gathering as his beautiful bride of many years, or if the occasion permitted, he referred to Helen as his Drill Sargent. It was always funny to hear, as she was his companion, rather, compass in life.

Eddie has respect, integrity, devotion, honor, a few words which we all admire in how a man should conduct his life.

Eddie is a soldier, true to the colors of our nation. He served his Marine  brotherhood throughout his life, volunteering in VA hospitals throughout the state.

Every spring, Eddie would show up at lodge one Wednesday Night ,with ashes on his forehead. He never spoke the word as I remember, but I knew his faith to Jesus and the lord. He is in good hands.

One evening, we had a informal round table discussion with fellow brethren outside of the lodge. I do not remember if Eddie was in attendance,  but discussion turned about the subject of Masonic principals. David McArdle commented on an observation, and I remembered his words clearly.  In essence, the message was Eddie exemplifies what a true Mason is. We who were there all agreed. It was like a scene out of a movie, a glimpse of time, which will forever remain in my memory of Eddie. Well done, good and faithful servant.   

You were always there for me during some of the darkest times and we will miss you so very much.  A friend, a mentor, a Marine brother like no other.  I know you are protecting the streets of heaven my friend and one day I will report for duty.  Semper Fi RIP and we will look after Helen for you.

My deepest sympathy for the family. I stood taller & prouder when Eddie presented the flag of the United States at PVST meetings. No one will ever fill those shoes, not the click of the heels, nor the smart and sharp salutes he gave each time. It's an honor to call him my Brother & friend. I'll now cherish even more the book "Marines in the American Revolution" he gave me.

Brother Eddie was an amazing man and truly lived the principals of our gentle Craft. My prayers go out to his family and the Brothers at Paradise Valley Silver Trowel Lodge No. 29 where he long served as our Marshall. He will be missed!

Shari and I are so sad to hear of Eddie's passing. We have wonderful memories of him from Lodge. He was a proud man and a good Mason. Be well Helen.
