A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro, with Rev. Gene Dean officiating.
Maybelle was born in Guilford County on December 10, 1920 to the late Charles and Hattie Coble, grew up in Pleasant Garden and was a graduate of Pleasant Garden High School. She was a former member of Asheboro St. Baptist Church and then was a member of Friendly Avenue Baptist Church. Maybelle enjoyed working for 20 years as the bridal consultant and bridal department manager at Ellis Stone/Thalhimers Department Store. She was very creative, loved flower gardening, needlework, painting and kept a beautiful home and yard. She loved to laugh and was always a joy to be around. Above all, she cherished her family and friends. Maybelle was a loving a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Maybelle was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John Frank “Pete” White, Sr.; and three of her siblings, Charles “Dub” Coble, Jack Coble, and Mary Lou Coble Chunn.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, John Frank White, Jr. (Elaine) of Locust Grove, GA, Della Mae White Parkinson (David) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Deborah Gwyne White Haworth (Glenn) of Havelock, NC; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Jane Coble Webster (Bennie), Judy Coble, Joan Coble, and Doris Coble Brisson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
