Leticia was a deeply caring and loving person with a big heart. She had a passion for raising and caring for her children; Michelle, Jeffrey, Jamie, Jonathan, Sean and many grandchildren. She worked hard every day to provide for her children, working several jobs to make sure she could provide for them. She instilled this hard-working ethic in all of her children to provide for themselves and their children. Her Army career in nursing brought out the compassion in her heart to every patient she worked with and brought lots of friendship into her life. She enjoyed traveling many places in the US and Europe with her children.
Leticia spent her remaining years in Kerrville taken care of by amazing nurses and staff. She was deeply cared for and loved by her care team at the VA Home of the Brave. Her nursing background kept her busy even as a resident. She continually watched out for the other patients. She brightened their shifts with making sure to say hello to them with a smile. She had a passion for bingo later in life; “for bingo 1,2,3 books are better than nothing”. She also enjoyed her FaceTime calls towards the end to make sure she got to see her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted grandmother in the capacity that she could be. She always wanted to be dressed to see her children and grandchildren when they came.
Leticia was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. These are just a few of the titles she held in life, but the love she put in each can’t be measured. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Leticia Cruz Roberson, born April 6, 1950 in Laredo, Texas, passed away on October 16, 2020 at the age of 70.
