Essie Maria (Ree) Sims, 54, of Knoxville, TN went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 23, 2020. She was born on August 1, 1966 in Pensacola, FL to Dolly Mae Brown and the late James Brown. Maria accepted Christ as her Savior and often attended Shoreline Church in Knoxville, TN. When visiting in Pensacola, she attended Bethel A.M.E. Church.
Maria married the light and love of her life, Bryan Keith Sims of Pensacola, FL on December 4, 1993. Bryan and Maria shared a wonderful and blessed life together. More than anything else, they loved and enjoyed each other’s company and living life to the fullest.
Maria will be remembered for her charitable and loving spirit. She was a giver at heart to all her family and friends. She never met a stranger that she did not convert into a friend. Maria was blessed with many gifts; she was a culinary expert, designer, gardener and she was funny too. It pleased her greatly to spend time with family and friends, entertaining and preparing delectable meals that would be as pleasing to the sight as they would be to the palate. She worked in the culinary field, of which she loved, and later became a home health care provider; a field particularly suited for her because of her love for people.
She is survived by her husband Bryan Sims of Knoxville, TN; her son, Marvin Brown, Atlanta, GA; two grand-children, Maurice English and Ajia Brown, Atlanta, GA; her mother, Ms. Dolly Mae Brown, Pensacola, FL; brothers and sisters, Lovie Goldsmith, Milton, FL; Kenneth Brown, Atlanta, GA; Arlene (Art) Cage, Lavon Brown, James Lynn Brown, Tanika Brown, Pensacola, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Jude 24-25
