Doug enjoyed bowling, watching the horses run at the race track and was an avid razorback fan. With his parents, aunts, uncles and cousins, Doug played a dice game, 5100, and the games were said to last for hours. He worked for the Dixie Café for more than 20 years. After his dad passed away, Doug helped care for his mom at home for several years. The past 4 years, he lived at Alcoa Pines Nursing home where he loved playing bingo and won lots of prizes.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister and brother-in-law, Lynn Golenor and Corey Cortez; niece, Krista Cortez; nephew, Colbe Cortez; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Memorials can be made to Bryant First United Methodist Church or Mabelvale United Methodist Church.
