Arnulfo Luna was ushered to heaven in prayer on November 5, 2020. Born to Arnulfo and Teresa Luna in Fabens, Texas on December 22, 1948 and lifelong resident of both El Paso and Grand Prairie, Texas, Arnie was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His love of country, family, friends and faith carried him throughout his life, and exemplified how he lived.
A graduate of Jefferson High School in El Paso, Texas, he was a self-proclaimed Silver Fox in every way. Arnie enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter door gunner. He was lifelong devoted to the Americal Division, and proudly supported all past, present, and future Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, and Marines. As an owner-operator of his trucking company, Valley Heights, he has the selfies to prove if you’ve been there, he’s been there, and he’ll tell you the mile marker.
Known by Dad, Pop, Grandpa and Grandpa-Grandpa , and some we a can’t mention here, he was most happy in the company of his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. The dance sessions, mechanic lessons, under the table candy contraband stashes, and artwork collaborations make up our beloved Luna home base.
Above all, he was a man of faith.
Arnulfo is survived by children: #1 Arnulfo Luna III (Belinda), #2 Juan Carlos Luna, #3 Diego Luna (Sarah), #4 Christina Adan (J.P.); #5 Monica Gaarz (Lance); siblings: Rodulfo Luna (Ana), Irma Batres (Victor); Grandchildren: Andrea, Ariana, Raymond, Andrew, Zachary, Diego, Olivia, Julia, Rosie, Judy; Great-Grandchildren: Aurora, Arielle, Andrew andJesse
A rosary for Arnulfo will be held Monday, November 9, 2020 at 9:30am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 2910 Corn Valley Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00am. Burial will take place at DFW National Cemetery at a later time.
