Walter completed his education in Chicago, Illinois. He spent his early years as a hardworking father and salesman. Among his many gifts and talents, Walter was an artistic and gifted illustrator. He created beautiful murals for schools within the inner-city community of Chicago and creative artwork of his family. In the years that followed, Walter settled in Minneapolis, MN and worked as a construction worker. After finding a new lease on life, Walter served as a devoted member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and was actively involved in their community outreach program. Known for his great sense of style, Walter volunteered at a local clothing shelf assisting underemployed men find attire for job interviews.
Walter enjoyed traveling, reading books, and listening to different genres of music. He was a blessing to those in need and an encourager when he sensed someone was discouraged.
Walter gave his life to Christ at an early age and later recommitted his heart to serve the Lord in 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents: Lawrence Walls and Elaine (Harris) Walls and two brothers: Thomas and Lawrence Walls, Jr.
Walter is survived by his best friend of thirty-nine years: Karen Hatley, two sons: Nathaniel Wells and Santino (Marquas) Evans, one daughter: Army Specialist Kyesha Lewis, thirteen grandchildren, one sister: Elaine Dillard and brother-in-law: Major Dillard, two nieces: Kelly Walls and Hannah Felix, and one nephew: Joseph Walls. Walter will be deeply missed by all.
