Vanice Coleman Mercer, 78, of Sims passed away Monday. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, Wilson, NC. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson, NC.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2020, at the funeral home located at 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, NC.
Vanice was a long-time member of Healthy Plain Primitive Baptist Church and had a successful 30-year career in Real Estate. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her son, Dean Mercer (Jeannie) of Lucama; three grandchildren, William Mercer, Kristin Joyner and Emily Bailey; one sister, Esther Bissette (Billy S.) of Elm City; and one brother, A. Carroll Coleman (Peggy) of Kenly.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vanice Michelle Mercer; parents, Grover Cleveland and Bruce Bunn Coleman; three sisters, Fannie Mae Marlowe, Dixie Page and Pearl Lamm; and five brothers, Cleveland Coleman, Bennie Coleman, William Coleman, Garland Coleman and Durand Coleman.
The Mercer family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Spring Arbor of Wilson for the exceptional care provided to Vanice over the last several years.
