Thomas Edwin Stephenson, 98, of Sewickley, formerly of Allison Park, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at UPMC Passavant. He was born on February 7, 1922 in Oxford, OH, where he later worked for his father’s business, Stephenson Coal & Ice, carrying chunks of ice (“weighing as much as he did”) for refrigerators. He met Carol Long on a blind date, they dated during his leaves from the Air Corp, and married in 1945. Carol preceded Tom in death in 2018, and he is survived by sons, Robert (Marlene) of Green Valley, AZ and Jack (Lynne) of Allison Park, PA, grandchildren, Jill (Robert) Campbell and Tom (Angela) Stephenson, and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jackson Campbell and Maelynne Stephenson.
A private memorial interment for immediate family will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church on November 14. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested in Tom’s memory to North Hills Community Outreach or to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Allison Park, PA.
Arrangements are under the direction of the HP BRANDT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1032 Perry Hwy. Ross Twp. Online condolences may be shared at www.brandtfuneralhome.com
