Tuesday, November 10, 2020, after courageously battling cancer. Dave was born
to Joan and John P. Robertson Jr. in Beckley, West Virginia on May 24, 1952.
Dave graduated from the University of New Mexico where he received his
Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1980. He received his
Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Colorado
at Denver in 2000.
Dave served his country in the New Mexico Air National Guard from 1973 to
1981 at Kirkland AFB, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dave touched the sky flying
the A-7D Corsair II. In 1981 Dave began working in the aerospace industry as a
logistics engineer. He completed his career as a senior design engineer, where
he designed equipment for use by the Department of Energy.
Dave was always ready to trade fishing stories about his trips to the San Juan
River and other favorite fishing holes. He enjoyed a good political debate and
would often reference America’s founding fathers and the Bible. His love of
history, science, aviation, automobiles, western movies, firearms, 1970’s rock,
cooking, and baking bread made Dave a sure bet on trivia night.
Dave is survived by his wife Lillian, Mother, Joan Robertson of Albuquerque, NM;
three children: Olivia Cinea (Keith) from Castle Rock, CO; Dave Jr. Robertson
(Meghan) of Little Rock, AR; and Jessica Carey (Stephen) of Austin, TX. He is
also survived by his three brothers, John P. Robertson III (Connie), Bill Robertson
(Lori), Daniel Robertson and (Mary). Dave’s legacy includes seven
grandchildren; Avery Robertson, Aidan Robertson, Christopher Cinea, Madeline
Robertson, Calder Carey, Neil Cinea, and Augustus Carey.
He is preceded in death by his father John P. Robertson Jr., and his daughter-inlaw
April Nersesssian, mother to Avery, Aidan, and Madeline Robertson.
