David Meier, 68, passed away on November 13, 2020 in Bentonville. He was born on November 27, 1951 in Parsons, Kansas to the late Martin and Alma Meier. He was the loving husband of Linda (Storey) Meier for 27 years.
Dave is survived by his wife, Linda, of Garfield, his children Tricia Meier (Doug) of Bella Vista, Chris Meier (Jacque) of Plano, Texas, Cheryl Click (Steve) of Fayetteville, and Elizabeth Hall of Bella Vista, and his grandchildren Kaleb Hall of Bella Vista and Benjamin Meier of Plano, Texas. He is also survived by brothers Don (Connie), Roger, and Ken (Brenda), and his sister Kathy Mathieu .
Dave was a 1969 graduate of Baxter Springs High School, Baxter Springs, KS. He attended two years of college at KU. In 1986 he moved his family to Rogers, Arkansas, to open Meier Auto Parts. He retired in March 2020 after a long career in sales.
Dave was always involved in helping the community. He was a charter member of the Rogers Early Risers Rotary Club. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Rogers for many years. He later attended First Christian Church. After moving to the lake near Garfield, Dave and Linda joined Lost Bridge Community Church.
Dave had many interests, most of which involved cars (classic, sport, or Formula One) or just going way too fast in general (snow skiing, slalom water skiing, and boating). He was also an avid reader of anything nonfiction, but his favorite was unquestionably the Bible, which he studied daily. More than anything though, he enjoyed being around loved ones and sharing a good laugh.
A graveside service will be on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 2pm in Ruddick Cemetery, Garfield.
With respect for COVID, the family has asked that everyone wear a mask.
