Lindon Dean Greer, 88, of Liberty, Missouri passed away Sunday November 15, 2020 at Cameron Regional Medical Center. Lindon was born, October 27, 1932 in Avondale, MO to William and Maurine (Lawhorn) Greer. He grew up and lived around Clay County, Missouri his whole life. After high school, Lindon joined the Navy, and served three tours of duty during the Korean War as a Boilertender on the USS Essex and the USS Oriskany. On June 11, 1952, he married Joyce Bell, the love of his life.
In his spare time Lindon enjoyed going out and dancing with Joyce, working on wood working projects in his shop, and Troop Master for Troop 373. He also enjoyed gardening, but most of all he enjoyed spending quality time with his family. Lindon was a very loving and caring grandfather, and cherished his time with all of them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother Bill Gene Greer, two sons; Gary and Edward Dwayne Greer, and his daughter Lisa Thommen, granddaughter Amber Jean Whitley, and great grandsons William Cooper Greer and Alaric James Womack.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, sons; William (Toni) Greer of Liberty, Missouri, and James (Brenda) Greer of Bella Vista, Arkansas, 21 grandchildren and 51 Great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, 12206 N. Stark Ave, KCMO.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Cameron’s Veteran Home, 1111 Euclid Ave., Cameron, MO 64429
