Ronald passed away November 14, 2020 at his home. He was born January 3, 1946 to S.W. and JoDale Lester in Gainesville, Texas. Ronnie, as he was affectionately called, grew up in Arlington, Texas where he lived most of his life, graduating from Arlington High School and working in his family's restaurant business.
In 1971 Ronnie married Casey and together they raised their blended family in Arlington. After retirement, Ron and Casey relocated to Canton, Texas, where they have joyfully served for 14 years at Little Hope Baptist Church. Their ministry would include teaching Sunday School and the Good News Club--Whenever the doors were opened, you could be certain to find them there. Ronnie even won a couple of the Men's Valentine cake decorating contests. Ronnie loved "winning" at dominoes and fellowshipping with his Church family.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Casey, their four children: Steven Lester of Prosper, Texas, Jeff Lester of Hawaii, John Bowers of Mansfield, Tennessee, and LaDawn Black of The Villages, Florida; their grandchildren: Devin, Kaitlyn, Lauren, Tripp, Abrahm, Enzo, Wyatt and Ainsley; and two great-grandchildren: Eli and CeCe. Ronnie is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Kaye and Richard Watkins of Arlington; as well as sisters-in-law: Jackie Gerhardt, Annecia Wickersham, Tina Thomason and Beckey Jernigan, and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Despite these very difficult years of his health, Ronnie was faithful to persevere in his confidence in the sufficiency of God's sovereignty and grace, never ceasing to call out to Jesus in all of his final days. To his dying day, Ronnie believed that God was always good.
