Shelby Jean Barnett Bailey passed away on November 16, 2020 after a courageous battle with ALS. She was born in 1948 in Birmingham, AL. She was a graduate of Phillips High School and held a Master’s of Science in Nursing from UAB.
She was an RN for fifty years and taught nursing at several local schools, including Samford University. In her later years she was a proud member of the Lily of the Cahaba chapter of the DAR.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert Bailey; her son, Chad Bailey; and her daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Andrew Ignash. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Lonnie and Lois Barnett.
