Jimmie Sue (Walker) Fecht, 72, of Lake Jackson, Tx, went home to be with her Lord on November 17, 2020. Jimmie Sue was born to Jim and Jessie Walker on February 25, 1948 in Bartlesville, Ok. She grew up in Copan, Ok, always surrounded by beloved siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jimmie married William Lee Fecht in Copan, Ok on April 25, 1969. Jimmie Sue and Willy spent a number of years living in Copan, Ok, then Borger, Tx, and most recently called Lake Jackson, Tx home, where Jimmie loved being near the ocean. Jimmie and Willy proudly attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Ks where they both received their degrees. Jimmie Sue worked for many years as an elementary school teacher where she was beloved by many, until retiring to be a stay-at-home Mom and later Gram. During her time as an educator, she impacted many lives. Beyond spending her time as a loving and influential wife, mother, and Gram, she served her church diligently with a true servant’s heart. Jimmie Sue loved serving others and spending quality time with her family and friends. She was a tremendous cook and baker that lovingly and gladly shared her gifts with others. For many years, Jimmie Sue was the driving force behind education, missions, and outreach at First Christian Church of Lake Jackson. From pecan pie sales (her personal recipe), tailgate treats, to vacation bible school, Jimmie Sue shared her love for others and Jesus with so many. Serving others was her strength, but her family was her heart; this was illuminated by her 51year marriage, deep love for her children, and immense pride in all her grandchildren. Jimmie Sue always had a kind heart, quick wit, and was everyone’s own personal dictionary. She will be missed deeply by all those fortunate enough to know her. Jimmie is preceded in death by her parents, Jim & Jessie Walker; siblings, Cynthia Lowe, Jane Cameron, and Edward Burkart. Jimmie is survived by her husband, William Fecht; children, Ivy (Mark) Brown, Jared (Julie) Fecht, Sarah (James) Metcalf; grandchildren, Walker Brown, Garrett Brown, Jolie Fecht; many beloved nieces, nephews, and siblings-in-law; and numerous unofficially adopted children, grandchildren, and dear friends that claimed her as their own.
