Geri(Geraldine)Doke Wilson passed away peacefully on November 16, 2020. Geri loved riding horses and as a young woman she joined her brother, Joaquin Sanchez, in participating in rodeos. Geri was a barrel racer and Joaquin was a rodeo clown keeping riders safe. Besides horses, Geri had many pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and even a pigeon, she dressed in a hat and coat. As a very small child she even had a big dog that allowed her to ride on his back. Geri loved the out of doors and was skilled at water and snow skiing. She also loved deep sea and fresh water fishing. Geri worked for several different doctors during her career as a medical assistant. Her last employment before retiring was at Valley Medical Center in Fresno in the Radiology Department. Her job was to transport patients and process x-ray films in the darkroom.
After her retirement, Geri still loved to take trips and see new things. She always loved going to the ocean at Morro Bay and Monterey. Geri was predeceased by her mother, Serena Doke, of Corcoran, her brother, Joaquin Sanchez, her aunt Ruby Doke of Tulare, and her uncle Earl Doke. Geri is survived by her partner of many, many years, Margaret Peterson, her cousins Patricia Kelly Johnson of Bakersfield, Kathleen Kelly Martin of Missoula Montana, and Michael Vernon Kelly of Bakersfield.
Geri will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Any Remembrance should be sent under Her name to Hinds Hospice in Fresno.
