Warren was a registered professional engineer. He held Bachelor's and Master's degrees in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University and Purdue University. Warren retired from the aerospace industry, where he specialized in rocket and jet engine propulsion. In the latter role, he directed the design and development of jet engine propulsion systems for two renowned fighter aircraft: the F-8 Crusader and the F-15 Eagle. Both set flight records that still stand. After retirement, he invented a product to improve the performance of air-conditioning systems. The product is now used in all 50 US states and several foreign countries. In recent years, he enjoyed consulting for his company, playing bridge weekly with friends, and spending every Sunday lunchtime with his family and great-grandchildren.
Warren is survived by his son, Paul Dudley Trent; granddaughter, Carmen Trent (Matt) Carpenter; grandson, Guy Paul Trent; great-granddaughter, Emma Claire Carpenter; and great-grandson, Cole James Carpenter or "Little Giant" as grandpa called him.
