Phyllis was born July 13, 1949, in Lake Charles, to Rodney Flippen McLean III and June Amelia (Murdoch) McLean.
She attended Lake Charles High School where she was a proud member of the Kilties girls marching group. She continued her education at McNeese State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. She went on to become an accountant and was the controller of a local telecommunications company, a position she held for over 30 years.
Phyllis was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd where she faithfully served on the Altar Guild for many years. She enjoyed genealogy, crafting, and traveling with family, and she loved watching her two twin grandchildren grow.
She is survived by her daughters, Maura Cole of Lake Charles, and Catherine Cole and her wife, Katie Kendall, of Seattle, WA; sister Mary McLean LeDoux of Lake Charles; brothers and their spouses, Rodney Flippen McLean IV and Jimmie Ann (Meaux) McLean of Kalispell, MT, and Michael and Paula McLean of Lake Charles; many nieces and nephews; and two grandchildren, Eleanor June and Henry Thomas Kendall-Cole, of Seattle, whom she loved so very much.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
A Memorial Service will be held 1pm, Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 715 Kirkman St, Lake Charles, LA 70601
