Born in Kingston, Jamaica she grew up with parents that worked hard and instilled a strong work ethic in her. This carried over into her professional life both in Jamaica and once she migrated to the United States. Enid worked for Pfizer at their World Headquarters in New York for 33 years before retiring in 2008. She initially resided in the Bronx for a number of years before she purchased her home in Yonkers.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Enid. She loved to read, stimulate her mind with puzzles and word searches on her iPad. She loved to travel, shop - Lord & Taylor and Macys were among her favorite stores and she enjoyed good food. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities, tending her roses in her garden and planting vegetables were among her favorite pastime. She would always found time to encourage those around her with her positivity and was always humble and kind. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met and she still had her close circle of friends from high school in Jamaica as well as family members, whom she still communicated with regularly.
Enid was a caring mother to her daughter Janet and son-in-law Tony, her son Peter and his fiancée Mayra and adored her beloved grandchildren Andrew, Jonathan and Juliana. She is survived by siblings Iris and Pearl. She will be missed by her nieces Mandy & Carol, nephew Raymond, grandniece Tatiana and grandnephew Christopher.
Enid’s family was her greatest source of pride and her lasting legacy. Her love of life didn’t come to an end with her death, her loved ones will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Her kindness and warm presence will be deeply missed by all.
In deference to COVID restrictions, the family will forego a repast after the burial and a memorial service will be planned in the future.
