Leonora Teixeira was born in San Diego, California on December 26, 1930. She was the only child of Jose Teixeira and Virginia Teixeira who passed in 1960 and 1962, respectively. Lee's nickname was the "Mayor of Point Loma" as she was well known in the area she lived. She loved to help people in any way that she could by being an interpreter for friends and family. Lee would volunteer to take people to their doctors' appointment and help with a phone call to handle important issues that needed attention by having someone speak English.
Lee worked as a seamstress for Ratner's factory for over 11 years. She worked hard and was always called on to sing Happy Birthday to all employees as she had a beautiful voice. Lee was always the life of the party and fun and was invited to any birthday party or wedding she was always the bridesmaid but never the bride. Lee lived life to the fullest, always happy and loved a dry martini.
Lee's favorite saying was a toast: "Salud, dinero, y amor". (Health, money, and love)
We will miss her wonderful smile and her humor. She loved to laugh and was always happy. In her final hours she was smiling and blowing kisses to her caregivers and hospice nurse. She was at peace and now she rests in heaven.
She is survived by her cousins: Linda Crivello, John Gouveia, and Dean Gouveia.
We would like to thank Santa Martha Residential Board and Care for all of their care and love they gave Lee over the last few years.
