Harriet was born Aug. 12, 1936 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Myung Ok and Myung Sook Lou. She received her Bachelor's degree at the University of Oregon where she met her husband of 62 years, Mathias, an orthodontist. They lived in Portland, Ore., and raised four children, Pam, Donald, Peter, and Susan. In their retirement years, they resided in Washougal, Wash.
Harriet was a wonderful mother, grandmother and a loyal friend. Though she was quiet, she had a knack for entertaining and making people feel loved. She was artistic, an excellent cook, and had many collections she started throughout her life to indulge her grandchildren, including baseball cards and Beanie Babies. She enjoyed fellowship at Trinity Bible Church where she and her family attended for approximately 40 years. Her unwavering faith in Christ showed in the way that she lived her life and loved others.
Harriet was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul and Joe Lou; and sister, Margaret Simeona. She is survived by her husband, Mathias; four children, Pam (Bob) White, Donald (Larissa) Uchiyama, Peter (Lori) Uchiyama and Susan (Steve) Nagai. She had five grandchildren, TC, Tyler, Cole, Evan, and Aimee whom she loved and prayed for every day.
A private viewing and burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery on December 28, 2020 with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
