LuAnn E. Phillips, 80, passed away in Southern California on December 22, 2020. She was born to the late Elsie and Leo Koberlein, September 14, 1940 and grew up in Columbia, Illinois. She graduated from St. Teresa Academy in East St. Louis. She married Terry I. Phillips in 1966, living together in St. Louis, Missouri, until his passing in 2017. She then moved to California to be with her son, Jeffrey Phillips, daughter-in-law, Juliana Fuqua and her grandchildren, Alissa and James. LuAnn is also survived by Marylin Koberlein (sister), Donald Koberlein (brother), Mary Jane Koberlein, Elaine Purdue, and other loved ones. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Matthias the Apostle Catholic Church. Her hobbies included sewing, needlepoint, gardening and reading. After she retired from working as an administrative assistant from Gundaker Realtors and Terry retired from Ameren-UE, they continued one of their passions- traveling. This beloved, patient family member will be missed and held lovingly in our hearts. In light of the current COVID crisis, no public viewing or services will be held at this time.
