Born in Acushnet, a son of the late Sydney and Elizabeth (Burgess) Williamson, he was a longtime resident of Swansea.
A graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational High School, he was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War.
Mr. Williamson worked as a service representative in the steam turbine industry for thirty-five years. He worked for the Elliot Company, B.W.C. and was self-employed prior to his retirement in 1985. An avid Boston Bruins fan, he enjoyed sailing and playing bocce.
He is survived by one son, John T. Williamson and his wife Barbara of Martinsville, VA; one daughter, Lisa Plezia and her husband Christopher of Middletown and two grandchildren Cameron and Sammy Plezia. He was the brother of the late Thomas Burgess.
Due to current restrictions on public gatherings, his funeral will be private. Contributions in his honor may be made to the Salvation Army, 290 Bedford St., Fall River, MA 02720.
