Frank J. Schuh died December 24, 2020. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 3, 1935 to Sebastian and Elizabeth Schuh. He grew up in Columbus and earned his BS and MS degrees in Petroleum Engineering at The Ohio State University in 1956.
Frank is survived by Alice, his sweetheart of 64 years, by son Dwain J. Schuh and his wife Kimberly, and by son Michael J Schuh and his wife Wyn; grandchildren: Austin, Travis, Parker and Olivia Schuh; Bryan Van Zile; and Heather Bowen and greatgrandchild: Avery Bowen.
He was preceded in death by daughter Barbara Ann married to Thomas Van Zile.
Frank spent his entire life dedicated to the betterment of the oil industry working for ARCO Oil and Gas Co. After retirement in 1984 he founded Drilling Technology Inc. He made many inventions including horizontal drilling which changed the industry.
He was elected to the National Academy of Engineers, and received awards from Ohio State, SPE, and AIME for his brilliance.
Frank loved his family and enjoyed a summer family vacation every year. He also loved sailing, baseball coaching, scouting, and teaching CCD with his children. Later golf and the Dallas Cowboys became passions. Saturday golf was a must if there was oxygen in the air.
Frank was a member of St. Rita Catholic Community since 1965. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rita Catholic Church, in Dallas on Wednesday, January 13, at 11 a.m. Interment at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Dallas.
