Mrs. Brock was born in Horry County, South Carolina, on March 4, 1934, the daughter of the late Jonathan David Hucks Sr. & Annie Elizabeth Hucks.
Mrs. Brock graduated from Socastee High School in 1952 as valedictorian of her class.
As a young child Mrs. Betty was faithfully and lovingly taught about God and biblical principles by her parents. At nine years old, she responded to a sermon about how Christ had died on the cross to save sinners and being convicted of her sins Mrs. Betty went forward and knelt at what was called a “Mourner’s Bench” and asked God to save her soul. Mrs. Brock will be remembered for her deep love for Christ, her consistent prayer life and her love of the Bible. Mrs. Betty played the piano and was a church pianist for a number of years. She loved to sing for her Lord. She loved her family and always encouraged them to serve the Lord and follow His will for their lives. She was a charter member of Emmanuel Bible Church in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.
A Funeral Service will be held December 30, 2020 at 11:00 am at Foundations Bible Collegiate Church in Dunn, North Carolina with Dr. H.T. Spence officiating. Burial will follow in the Paracleft Cemetery on the campus.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Eugene C. Brock Jr. whom she lovingly called “my darling,”of the home;
Four sons, Eugene C. Brock III & (wife) Gail; Timothy C. Brock & (wife) Charlene; John E. Brock Sr. & (wife) Vicki all of Socastee, South Carolina; Rev. Anthony W. Brock & (wife) Sonya of Dunn, North Carolina; a daughter, Karen E. McMahan & (husband) Jerry of Pittsboro, North Carolina; three brothers, David Hucks & (wife) Virginia (deceased); Phillip Hucks & (wife) Lillian; Wesley A. Hucks & (wife) Elizabeth all of Socastee, South Carolina; three sisters, Florence Rhodes & (husband) Sam (deceased) of Conway, South Carolina; Sarah Pillow & (husband) Henry (deceased); Elizabeth Willhite & (husband) Jerry (deceased) of Socastee, South Carolina; Eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends December 30, 2020, from 9:00 am – 10:30 am in the sanctuary at Foundations Bible Collegiate Church in Dunn, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be given to Emmanuel Bible Church.
