Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Jose Pereira Ramos and Rose (Morse) Ramos, he was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School class of 1941 and a WWII Veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He was employed as a Precision Machinist for Morse Twist Drill for 40 years prior to his retirement.
Theodore loved his family, especially his two grandchildren; he was an extremely kind and gentle soul, who had great wisdom. He was a self-taught man, who loved History. An avid fan of all sports, especially Football. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for 20 plus years.
He was extremely proud of the fact that he was a direct whaling descendant of Captain Hendrick William Morse.
He is survived by his daughters, Juanita Reis and her husband Joseph of New Bedford and Lisa Ramos and her husband Michael Gonsalves of New Bedford; a son, Carlos Ramos of New Bedford; his grandchildren, Shadrick Reis and Talyah Gonsalves and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Josephine DaRosa.
Theodore’s Mass of Christin Burial will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 11:00AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 47 South 6th Street, New Bedford, MA 02740. Relatives and friends are invited. Arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn Mortuary, 180 Washington Street, Fairhaven, MA 02719. Burial is Private.
