Although we’ve been neighbors for about 8 years now, I didn’t know Elaine all that well but always made sure to ask her how she was and joke about the kids when I saw her. Her great energy and wittiness for being older captivated me. I always used to think “that’s gonna be me when I get older” while saying my goodbyes as I took off. Reading those other memories just gave me a whole new love and respect for this wonderful woman. My deepest sympathy is with your family during this challenging time! Sending so much love your way! Iam so very sorry for the loss of ur mom she will be missed very much she made me laugh so much from all the bingo trips and casiano runs or just sitting out back at coop watching all the foolishness that went on there. I will never forget the last talk we had she said I love you Kim that touched my heart and always will

My Aunt Elaine had a prominent presence in the Hooper family.  As a mother on her own, with two mischievous young boys, I saw her as independent and strong.  I guess Charlotte was her example.  She was a friend to my mother, Donna.   When I was little, we would visit when my Dad worked the late shift and we had the car (just one!).  It was a treat for my mom to get out and to talk with my Aunt Elaine.  Paula, who was older (just a little!) would spend time with me.  Paula was always so funny and we would laugh and be annoyed at the mischief of those boys, Kent and Eddie.  As cousins, we were close and I cherish the time we laughed and played.   Shortly after I married my husband Jim,  and I joined him in California, Grandma, Aunt Elaine and Mike were visiting Aunt Patty and Uncle Tim, in Sacramento.  I volunteered to drive up to get them so that they could see Southern California.  They had a lot of fun at Disneyland and such and I got to spend some time with my Grandma, Charlotte.  It was nice to spend the time with my Aunt Elaine and Mike as well.  We had quite an adventure, though,  on the return trip, when our van overheated just 50 miles from Sacramento.  We were stuck for a day and Grandma had to catch her plane home, so we put the three of them on a bus.  I still feel really bad about that.  Overall, it was a fantastic opportunity to spend some time with my family and I am glad I did it.  I will miss my Aunt Elaine.  I feel blessed to have such great memories of her.
