Patricia “Pat” A. Burger of Johnstown, Colorado, age 80, passed away January 3, 2021. She is survived by her two daughters, Penny (Tom) Aguilar and Jennifer Briggs, six grandchildren, Jessica (Aaron) Sanchez, Morgan Velasquez (Charlie Baker), Lindsey Aguilar (Justin Seay), Megan (Ryan) Mortensen, Nicole Aguilar (Matt Cooper), and Darian Velasquez. Pat also had the pleasure of 11 great-grandchildren.
An only child, Ms. Burger carried on the legacy of her father and mother, Lambert and Dorothy Burger, through her commitment and investment in her beloved hometown of Johnstown, Colorado. She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1959 and attended CU-Boulder for a brief period studying music. Continuing her commitment to music, she also performed with barbershop quartets and was a judge for the talent show, Stars of Tomorrow. Ms. Burger was a member of the Fort Knightly musical group in Greeley and a member of the board of trustees for the Weld County General Hospital in the 1970s. Ms. Burger worked in radio advertising, often performing in the ads herself. She went on to work as an administrative assistant for John Perrott, Esq., and as Clerk of the Court for Milliken, Colorado.
Her generous spirit manifested through her friends and family, love of music, and an eye for creativity through her gardens, artwork, and hobbies in collecting and antiquing. Pat would often be spotted around Johnstown as she moseyed her cruiser in her self-described “orbit” through the various neighborhoods and she was grateful to be celebrated in 2012 as the Johnstown BBQ Day Honored Citizen.
The family would like to extend their profound gratitude to the staff of Columbine Commons in Windsor, Colorado. A private service to be held in Johnstown, Colorado, January 14, 2021, and a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
