She was at home where she wanted to be, surrounded by her family. She will now be reunited with her husband, Art, in heaven.
She is the beloved mother of Cindy, the mother-in-law to Mark, and the cherished 'Nan' of Justin and Samantha. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ursula Dixon. She will be lovingly remembered by so many friends, nieces, nephews and cousins throughout Hamilton and Muskoka.
She was a fixture at 'A Muskoka Tradition-Wild Blueberries' stand in Gravenhurst every summer where she greeted customers, friends and family, with a smile and shared many laughs. She will be missed by the local seniors card circuit in Hamilton where she made many friends over the years.
A special thank you to Dr.'s Ayeni and Hatcher and the Stay-Well Program - St. Joes West 5th Campus for their care and compassion over the last several years.
Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid19 restrictions there will be a private family service only at this time. A celebration of life will take place in the warmer weather hopefully when the restrictions are lifted.
Message of Thanks
We would like to express our gratitude to family and friends and co-workers, who surrounded us with love, sympathy and support during the recent loss of our mother, mother-in-law and Nan. We were overwhelmed by the immense support from our friends in Selkirk as well as those from Muskoka. Thank you for all the beautiful floral arrangements, mass intentions, telephone calls, sympathy cards, prayers and words of comfort. We are grateful to Father Robert Sims for his ongoing support and for providing a beautiful service, Father Paul Sims of Chicago for his prayers, compassion and daily phone calls. We would also like to thank Greg and his staff at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home (King and Kenilworth) for their support and guidance through this difficult time.
