Angelo Fuggetta, 101 years young, of Hampstead, North Carolina, originally from Wethersfield, entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2021 to join his Beloved wife Loretta. Born in Hartford’s “Old East Side” on October 28, 1919, he was the son of the late Frank and Santa Fuggetta. He is predeceased by his five siblings. He retired from the State of Connecticut, where he befriended many people and politicians. Although living in North Carolina in his later years, he always had Hartford in his heart. He loved our Country and had great respect for anyone in the Armed Services. He was an avid Yankees fan. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and the recipient of many medals for bravery. After completing four years in the Army, he met and married the love of his life Loretta (Pagliaro) of Boston, MA. Together they had six children, Nancy Fuggetta of Manchester, Robert Fuggetta and wife Debra of Danville, CA, Janet Tucker and husband Charlie of Hampstead, NC and Angela Fuggetta-Hotaling and wife Chastity of Newington. He was predeceased by daughter Elaine and son Frank. Angelo is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Brian Majewski and wife Liz, Joshua Majewski and wife Simone, Vanessa Jennings, Gregory Esten, Maryanne Fuggetta, Elizabeth Tucker and wife Kelly Cochran, Kyle Tucker, and Cara Fuggetta and husband Jeremy. Angelo was actively involved with the Connecticut Boxing Association and brought many famous boxers to the Hartford area for elaborate dinners and recognition. He was one of the original members of the F&L Club of Hartford. We will miss you” Old War Daddy”, Mom is waiting for you with open arms. The Family would like to thank the staff at Stonebridge Assisted Living and Amedisys Hospice care for their outstanding care of Angelo.
