Born in New Bedford and favorite son to the late Jean and Doris (Tremblay) Boucher, he was a lifelong area resident and graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.
Wayne was a business owner, operating and managing multiple canteen trucks, restaurants, bars, and clubs. Over the past decade, Wayne owned and managed Whaling City Painting Co.
As a member of several local social clubs, including St. Michael’s Social Club, Centro Luzo Americano Club, and the Madeira Club, he shared his love of food and cooking and would often take the lead when it was time for members to be fed. He will be fondly remembered for his generous spirit, warm embrace, and zest for life.
Wayne enjoyed making people happy. He lived life to the fullest and never changed a bit.
Surviving are his children: Trisha Boucher and her partner Ryan Witkos, Derek Fountaine and his partner Jeanettie-lee Andrade, Toni Gonsalves and her wife Jillian Antunes-Gonsalves, and James Roy and his wife Cynthia Roy, all of New Bedford. Wayne is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 9:00AM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745 followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Mary's Church, Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford.
