Phyllis was born in Boston, Massachusetts. She moved to Redington Shores, Florida over 40 years ago to enjoy the sun and dancing with her family, father, Louis Barber, Sr. and Anna DiCicco from Brookline, Massachusetts.
While raising daughter, Michelle Crowthers, she worked to earn an Associate’s degree in Expanded Duty Dental Assistant. After working for 15 years in St. Petersburg, she began a new career with Pinellas County Schools. Before retiring in 2006 as a baker, she served Madeira Beach Middle School and North West Elementary School. She was a “professional” shopper and beach lover.
Phyllis was a supportive grandmother to Gage Crowthers. While her father worked in maintenance in Redington Shores, she spent many days enjoying the Florida sun. A daughter of a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy she had strong family values and enjoyed volunteering at PARC for nearly seven years.
She was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Michelle for many years. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Michelle Crowthers, grandson, Gage Crowthers; brothers, Louis DiCicco Jr. and Maurice DiCicco and many extended family and friends in St. Petersburg Florida, Boston Massachusetts and Ohio.
