Annie Pearline Matlock, or Pearl to her friends and family, was born in El Reno, OK on Tuesday, October 6th, 1964. She was the daughter of Allen Greenleaf and Eula Faye (Patterson) Matlock, sharing a household with her three brothers and one sister, Allen Clark, Allen Eugene, Isaiah, and Lou Ann. She was the proud mother of four children, Stanley Joseph Santin Jr, Crystal Matlock, Angela Peckenpaugh, and Dustie Hilt. Pearl was easy going and loved people, it didn’t matter if she had just met you or had known you all her life. She was fun to talk to and was quite entertaining. She had the kind of smile that lit up when she entered the room. There was nothing she liked more than a day spent out doors camping and fishing at the lake. She took pride in her flower gardens and even more in the beautiful Pit Bull puppies she raised, they were her favorite breed. There was a gypsy spirit in Pearl, one that beckoned her to come see something new. So, Pearl traveled every chance she got and had gone from Oklahoma to California and back to Texas, and loved every minute of traveling. She was grandma to twelve very wonderful grandchildren, and any chance she had to spend with them was quality time. A Christian by faith, she passed from this life on January 5th, 2021 at her home surrounded by those who knew her best. She was 56 years old and will not be forgotten.
Pearl is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Isaiah Pat Patterson, Annie Mae Jackson-Patterson, Quincy Matlock and Pearl Mae Cain-Matlock.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children Stanley Joseph Santin Jr of Lawton, OK, Crystal Matlock Stowers and husband Jeffery of Tahlequah, OK, Angela Peckenpaugh and husband Johnny of Strang, OK and Dustie Hilt of Pryor, OK . Her siblings include Allen Clark Matlock and companion Dan of Apple Valley, CA, Allen Eugene Matlock of Arkansas, Isaiah Matlock and wife Christine of Las Vegas, NV and Lou Ann Matlock of Oklahoma City, OK. Her legacy lives on through her twelve grandchildren, Autumn Peckenpaugh, Nevaeh Stowers, Malachi Peckenpaugh, Richard Lewis, Mackenzie Smith, Shane Stowers, Winter Peckenpaugh, June Lewis, Payton Smith, Piper Smith, Ruby Stowers and Lily Stowers, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
A celebration of Pearl’s life will be conducted by the family at a later date.
