John Nadal entered into rest Wednesday, January 6, 2021. He was born on October 3, 1925 in New York, New York to Juan and Ana (nee Fremaint) Nadal. John grew up in Puerto Rico with six brothers and sisters: Elsie (Pompeyo), Harry (Linda), Miguel (Noelia), Gilberto (Gloria), Francis, and Socorro. John is survived by his devoted wife Lisa of Cooper City, FL, two sons John (Ana) of Pembroke Pines, FL and Walter (Carmen) of Memphis, TN, and their mother Idia Nadal of Pembroke Pines. He was predeceased by his loving daughter Idia (Rafael Antonio) Morla. John had seven beloved grandchildren: Stephens Morla, Sean Morla (Rosana), Jayson Nadal, Danielle Brunner (William), Seth Morla, Jessica Weaver (Corey) and Kristine Audas (Robert); five great-grandsons: Jaydon Nadal, Zachary Brunner, Jayse Nadal, Christian Weaver, and Cortland Weaver; and many nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Central High School in Santurce and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras. For six years, John proudly served as a member of the Air National Guard.
John retired after 30 years of Federal Government service. Twenty-six years with Regulatory Audit in Miami. Prior to that, he worked 10 years as auditor for the City of New York. At night, he worked for American Express and Franklin National Bank. John worked 24 years for the Government of Puerto Rico as a bank examiner for the Department of Treasury; Supervisory auditor for Banco de Ponce; Director of Accounting and Budget for Banco de Vivienda; Director of Accounting for the Department of Justice, Prison Industry; and Director of Finance at the Institute of Culture. At night, John worked as a night auditor at the Miramar Charter House hotel.
Besides his family, John loved dancing, traveling, watching wrestling, eating ice cream (favorite was pistachio), feeding the ducks, going to church, and dogs (especially bulldogs). He was a member of First Baptist Church of SW Broward.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 12-2 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. All services are taking place at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens South located at 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Davie, Florida 33317.
