Gayle was born on June 15, 1950, she was the daughter of Frank Harmer Underkofler and Catherine Strockbine Underkofler. She was raised in Feasterville and graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1968. She also attended Bucks County Tech School and was a graduate in the Class of 1968.
Gayle’s passion in life was being a loving and nurturing mother and grandmother, devoted and supportive wife, and a compassionate friend to all. She always put the interest of everyone else before her own. Gayle was a very generous and giving person who took great pleasure in spoiling her family. Her life was fulfilled as a wife, homemaker and Mom.
One of Gayle’s greatest loves was hosting the Annual Bluegrass Festival on their home grounds, where large groups of family and friends would gather for a weeklong celebration of music and comradery filled with laughter, reminiscing, creating new memories and of course the abundant food preparation. No one will ever forget Gayle’s infamous Baked Ziti.
Gayle was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Strockbine Underkofler and father, Frank Harmer Underkofler and her dear cousin, Cathy Rock-Sheehan.
Gayle is survived by her husband of 50 years, Benjamin B. Jarnutowski, Jr., her son, Benjamin B. Jarnutowski, III, fiancée Jenn Kandravi and his children, Joel, Amber and Ben IV.; daughter, Katie and her daughter, Abigail.
Gayle is also survived by her brother Frank Lee Underkofler and his three children, her dear cousin, Robin Rock-Reinard, and her husbands brothers and sisters: Stephanie (deceased) and her two sons, Madge & Dean Jennings and their five children, Mike & Patty and their two children, Joe (deceased) & Judy and their three children, Janice & Edward Barger and their three children, Sandy Amos and her three sons. She will also be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who are family.
Due to COVID 19, a celebration of Gayle’s life is planned to be held in the Enchanted Forest of Hilltown Baptist Church on Saturday, May 15th at 1 PM. Address 130 Upper Church Road, Chalfont, PA 18914, email [email protected] periodically for updates.
