Billie was born on February 6, 1949, in San Angelo, TX the daughter of J.E. and Oveta Young. She was a 1967 graduate of San Angelo Central High School. Soon after she married Terry Johnson on June 8, 1968. Together they started a family and had three children. Over the years she worked as a CNA at Baptist Memorial, owned a daycare service, worked at Ethicon, and worked in the Deaf Education Department at SAISD-San Angelo Independent School district. She retired from SAISD in 2014, after over 21 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Chelcie Rae Khantharasy, and husband Terry Johnson. After Terry Johnson passed away in 2006, Billie married Jim Boyer July 28, 2012.
Billie is survived by her husband Jim Boyer; her daughter, Dawn Khantharasy from Sacramento, CA; her sons Michael Johnson and wife Candice from McAllen, TX, Danny Joe Johnson from Round Rock, TX; and her grandchildren, Dylan, Ashton, Chelsey, Andrew, Jacob, Carley Grace, Cody, and Seth; twin sister Betty Blomberg, and older sister, Sue Kerr; and many nieces and nephews.
Billie loved her family and friends. She loved that her grandchildren called her Nena, spoiling them was her favorite thing to do. She had the biggest heart and was loved by everyone who knew her.
Billie was a faithful Christian, and a dedicated, life-long member of Belmore Baptist Church, where she served as Nursery Director for over 15 years. Her faith and church family were an important part of her life.
Billie had a passion for music. She played the violin for her church, nursing homes, and participated in weekly jam sessions. She also sang in The Young Sisters trio.
Due to Covid-19 Pandemic, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Billie's name be made to Belmore Baptist Church, San Angelo, TX.
