Hijo de Juan Jacobo y Alejandrina, Juan Antonio o “Toñito” como le decían sus amigos cercanos, nació en Santa Barbara, Honduras. Parte de su infancia la disfrutó con su abuelo materno de quien aprendió sobre las tareas propias del campo y compartió una época de su infancia que siempre recordó con mucho cariño. Creció en Santa Barbara junto a sus hermanos Alma, Daisy y Benjamín y estudió en el Instituto Departamental La Independencia. Luego de su graduación, aplicó sus conocimientos como contador trabajando con su padre en el negocio familiar y luego como exportador de café siendo gerente de una de las compañías más importantes de exportación de café en San Pedro Sula. En esta ciudad se estableció con su esposa Daisy, con quien se casó en 1969 y juntos tuvieron 8 hijos que a su vez le dieron 15 nietos. Fue un excelente padre y más aún, un extraordinario abuelo quien disfrutó mucho de las reuniones familiares donde los niños eran de su preferencia. Según muchos de los nietos, Abuelito Juan daba los mejores abrazos.
Compartió 51 años de vida matrimonial con Daisy de los cuales los últimos 23 fueron en la ciudad de Houston, Texas. En su tiempo libre, le encantaba la jardinería de su casa al igual que la teneduría de sus libros financieros. Siempre fué para todos un gran ejemplo de responsabilidad, honestidad, humildad, puntualidad, y sobre todo la fidelidad matrimonial. Deja un gran legado como esposo, padre, abuelo, suegro, amigo; sin duda alguna, una persona ejemplar. Le sobreviven su esposa Daisy, sus hijos, Juan, Sergio, Carolina, Mauricio, Oscar, Héctor, Claudia, su hermana Daisy, y sus hermanos de padre Jorge y Juan, muchos amigos y ex-compañeros de trabajo a quienes apreció mucho.
Se llevará a cabo un servicio conmemorativo el día 1ro de febrero del 2021 a las 11:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Católica St. Pius V en la 824 Main, Pasadena, TX 77506.
