William, “Bill,” Blosser was born January 29, 1925 in Takoma Park, Maryland to William and Floy (Morgan) Blosser at the Washington Sanitarium and Hospital.
After attending Sligo Elementary School through the 4th grade, the family moved to Vienna, Virginia where Bill completed the 8th grade. For high school, he attended Shenandoah Valley Academy in New Market, Virginia, where he graduated in 1943.
Upon graduation, Bill was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in World War II in Italy and the Philippine Islands in the medical department and company headquarters of the 4th General Hospital.
After the war, Bill returned to Virginia and attended Washington Missionary College in Takoma Park where he met, and later married, Marylou Leng in 1948. At this time, he was also attending Washington Technical School of Watchmaking in Washington, D.C.
Soon after, Bill left his watchmaking job to join his father’s house painting/paperhanging, and later home construction business in Virginia. At the same time, he was attending Strayer College of Accounting (now Strayer University) leading to a BCS degree in accounting.
In 1963, he and his family (now including two children, Garry and Patti Lynn) received an invitation to join the newly-organized Kettering Hospital in Kettering, Ohio; Bill as the administrative assistant and purchasing agent in the hospital pharmacy, and Marylou as a labor/delivery nurse. They both remained in these positions until their retirement in 1990 when they moved to Port Orange, Florida to be close to his mother, Floy Blosser.
Bill was a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist church his entire life, and enjoyed sharing his love of music by singing in various choirs, including the Kettering Chorale, and leading the songs for the worship service.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Marylou.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Garry, and his wife, Karen, of Roswell, New Mexico; daughter, Patti Lynn Hall, of Port Orange, Florida; three grandchildren, Heather, Shaun, and Evan; and six great grandchildren.
