Graveside Services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to a come and go visitation for Mrs. Roberts on Wednesday, January 13, from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 5701 Hwy. 277 S. in Abilene.
Born Patricia Ruth Flowers on October 11, 1931 to the late William Clifton and Birdie Mae (Windham) Flowers in Canton, Texas. The family moved to Abilene in 1936 where she attended school in Abilene, Elmdale, and Wylie. She married the love of her life Jack O. Roberts in 1947. Together they had a beautiful union full of love and devotion that produced three children. Tish went on to work for the Abilene Independent School district in 1970 as a cook, her speciality was baking cinnamon rolls that all the kids loved. She worked at Cooper High, Bonham and College Heights Elementary Schools and retired in 1994. She found much joy in serving the students in the cafeteria. She was always a people person, loved conversation and never met a stranger. She was a beloved aunt, and grandmother and shared a special relationship with her nieces, nephews and had a very special bond with her grandchildren, Randall, Jeffery, Melissa, Miranda and Kyle Roberts. She relocated to Anchorage, Alaska in 2013 to live with her son Willy and his wife Janet and returned to her beloved Texas in 2019 with them to live in Llano County. She was a member of the College View Baptist Church, when she lived in Abilene.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jack; daughter, Alma Ruth Roberts Spencer; five brothers, James Edward, Wendell, Deon, Ray, and Marshall Flowers; two sisters, Redith McMahan, and Marie Bryan.
Survivors include, two sons, Clifton Roberts, and William “Willy” Roberts and his wife Janet; brother, Tommy Flowers; 5 grandchildren, as mentioned by name above, her 6 great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Madison, Kelsey, Trinity, Trace and Colton; 1 great-great granddaughter Masyn; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She loved and was loved by all who knew her.
