Shirley Jean McLemore Payne

Shirley Jean McLemore Payne, of West Knoxville, passed quietly at home on January 9, 2021. Member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church. Shirley loved her family, her friends, her animals, and the Vols. She was a retired bookkeeper and after retirement, she divided her time between Knoxville and Florida. The family would like to thank Lockie Melton for her many years of special friendship and caregivers, Hannah Feller and Isabella Walker for loving Ms. Shirley. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenzel B. Payne and her parents, Harold and Bonnie McLemore. Survivors include daughter, Marcia Southern and husband Mike; son, Darryl Payne and wife Kim; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. Friends may drop by Berry Funeral Home at their convenience on Tuesday, between the hours of 11 AM and 4 PM or Wednesday, between the hours of 9 AM and 12 Noon, to pay their respects. Family and friends will meet Wednesday at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike Knoxville, TN 37920 for a 2 PM graveside service. Rev. Dennis Ford officiating.
