Ricardo Jove, age 94, died peacefully Friday, January 8, 2021 at his home in Manhattan, New York. Ricardo was born in Barcelona, Spain and later emigrated with his wife, Maria Rosa, and their four children to the United States. Ricardo was a successful international businessman, and later served as President and then Chairman Emeritus of the US - Spain Chamber of Commerce. In recognition of his service to Spain through the Chamber, the former King of Spain Juan Carlos I presented Ricardo with the Order of Civil Merit and the Order of Isabella the Catholic. Ricardo also served as Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Cervantes Institute (USA).
In addition to his wife, Maria Rosa, Ricardo is survived by five children - Ms. Rose Maria Jove Gorman, Dr. Richard Jove, Mrs. Elizabeth Ehrhardt, Dr. Martha Jove Carrano, and Mr. John Charles Jove. Ricardo is also survived by ten grandchildren - Christian, George Jr, Dorothea, Teresa, Cristina, Katherine, Veronica, Annemarie, Peter, and Richard Nicholas as well as one great-grandson, Brayden.
