She was a Wife and Mother, Grandmother, Counselor and loyal friend. In her younger years, she, along with her Mother Mary, ran a sewing business out of her home. Leotta loved children and babysat the little ones of family and friends as well as unofficially adopting a couple that needed her.
Leotta dealt with several illnesses in her life, but she barely ever complained about them. Her motto was to do anything she needed to do to come home to her family. And she did time and time again. She was an inspiration to all to never give up.
She loved her family dearly and her happiest times were when they were all together. Seeing them and when she lost her sight, hearing them brought her great joy.
Leotta would always say “I enjoyed y’all” no matter how long or short the visit was.
Leotta is survived by her daughters, Kim Telfair, Alisa Blackwell, and Tiffany Valgean; her son, Syed (Buck) Majeed; son-in-Law, Wayne Telfair; her grandchildren, Jamal Blackwell, Giselle Nevada, Sade Ward, Ryan Ward, Alexus Valgean, and Hakeem Valgean as well as numerous cousins and friends.
She is truly loved and missed and her passing leaves an unfillable void within her family.
Privates services are planned for Mrs. Blackwell.
